Nearly a Century of History

Tokuyama Corporation was originally established in Japan in 1918 as Nihon Soda Kogyo Co., Ltd. with the mission to create value that enhances people’s lives.

As a result, nearly a century of accomplishments and knowledge in chemistry have been transferred to the dental division to shape the future of dentistry.

  • Introduction of Tokuyama Universal Bond, a self-cured 8th generation universal adhesive, to U.S. market. (May)

    Introduction of Shield Force Plus, a resin-based desensitizer to treat dentinal hypersensitivity and post-op sensitivity.
  • Launched Sofreliner Tough, a soft denture reline material with consistent softness and excellent durability, available in medium and soft types.

    Introduced Estelite Omega, a polychromatic esthetic composite developed by Dr. Newton Fahl Jr. DDS, MS in collaboration with Tokuyama Dental’s Research & Development Team.
  • Launched Bond Force, a 7th generation single step self-etch adhesive, available in different convenient delivery types.

    Released Estelite Sigma Quick, an improved version of our Estelite Sigma composite, with 1/3 the curing time and 90 seconds of working time.

    Released Mac Bond II, the second bonding agent in Tokuyama Dental’s product portfolio.
  • Launched Tokuso Ceramic Primer, a primer to improve adhesion between ceramics and resins.

    Introduced Tokuso Rebase MR. Bond, a primer for bonding self-cured acrylics with non-precious metals.
  • Launched the 2nd generation of Palfique, now light-curable.
