SOFRELINER TOUGH® is an addition-cured silicone chairside soft lining material for dentures. Sofreliner Tough® has no odor, taste or chemical irritations. It offers a high tear resistance, high stain resistance and outstanding adhesion to the denture base. Sofreliner Tough® is designed to be used when durability is the primary concern. The paste cures in 5 minutes intraorally, and the kit comes with 2 different finishing points (Shape adjusting point & Finishing point).

  • Pain caused by sharp ridges of alveolar bone and atrophy of mucosa

What is Sofreliner?

Sofreliner is a silicone based, chairside, soft denture reline material. Sofreliner is auto dispense, long lasting, offers excellent retention to the denture base, cures intra-orally in 5.5 minutes and is available in three types; Soft, Medium Soft and Tough.

What is the best adhesive to use for denture to mouth?

The OTC (over the counter) adhesives do not work well with the silicone relines.

Will Sofreliner bond to Metal?

No, however, to work around this an office may treat the metal with MR Bond or Metaltite (depending on the metal) then add a thin layer of Tokuyama Rebase II to the metal, once set add Sofreliner to the newly applied acrylic.

What is the cause of poor adhesion and peeling at the margins with Sofreliner?

There are two possible causes of poor adhesion and peeling margins; too much primer or not spreading the paste over the denture prior to insertion. When using the primer one – two very thin coast is all that you need, less primer equals better adhesion. Another cause of poor adhesion or peeling at the margins is not spreading the paste evenly over the areas to be relined prior to placing the denture in the mouth, it is very important not to skip this step. What cleaning product should I use?

Any denture cleaner may be used, keep in mind that some denture cleaners may discolor the silicone but will not degrade the silicone its self. Do Not use a toothbrush on the silicone, use a soft cloth or gauze wipe the denture out.

Does the Sofreliner come in clear?

No, not at this time.

What is the best way to remove the silicone from the denture?
