Estelite Sigma Quick is technically a "supra-nano" composite. Estelite Sigma Quick's filler is 200 nm (nano meters) in size, which means it is larger than a nano but smaller than a microfil. Estelite Sigma Quick offers excellent physical properties, will polish very quickly with minimal effort and long term gloss retention.
Any polishing kit will work great with Estelite Sigma Quick; just remember not to work too hard at polishing.
No, due to the wide shade matching ability of Estelite Sigma Quick the "A" shades will work very well in the restorations that require a "D" shade.
To eliminate the gray appearance of a restoration when using Estelite Sigma Quick, Tokuyama recommends using either an "OA" or "OPA2" shade for this type of restoration. Ideally when placing a restoration you replace enamel with enamel and dentin with dentin. Estelite Sigma Quick offers several specialty shades to customize your shade selection when placing a restoration. Specifically when restoring a class IV to avoid the gray look it is important to use a shade with some opacity to it, any of the "O" shades or "OPA2" would be an excellent choice to replace your dentin (or as your first layer for other restorations) followed by a basic shade (A's, B's etc) for your enamel replacement. Following these recommended steps will eliminate the gray look and give you a natural, life-like restoration.
Quick note: OPA2 will not block out metal or dark staining, although you will find it very useful when placing class IV restorations.
Estelite Sigma Quick offers 3 opacities allowing the clinician to customize their shade selection for the variety of restorations that are placed on a daily basis. As with everything all shades are not created equal, the basic A, B and C shades offer the widest shade selection and are slightly translucent. The "O" shades have a little more opacity than the basic shades and "OPA2" has a little more opacity than the "O" shades. The "O" would be a great first layer when replacing dentin and you want your restoration to look more life-like. Again, "OPA2" will not block out metal or dark staining, although you will find it very useful when placing class IV restorations.
Estelite Sigma Quick implements the patented "Radical Amplified Photopolymerization (RAP) Technology" which works in tandem with CQ to decrease the curing time without sacrificing the clinicians working time. This technology sets Estelite Sigma Quick apart and is quickly becoming an industry leader.
Yes, Estelite Sigma Quick is radiopaque, including CE (clear enamel); you can place your restoration with confidence.
Tokuyama recommends Bond Force, however any bonding agent is compatible with Estelite Sigma Quick.
The shelf life of Estelite Sigma Quick is 3 years and the recommended temperature range for storage of the material is 32 - 77°F (0 - 25°C).
No, Estelite Sigma Quick is indicated for direct composite restorations and composite or porcelain repairs.
A2 is the most commonly ordered shade, however, each tooth is different and this should be evaluated on an individual basis.
ESQ is a universal composite indicated for anterior and posterior direct restorations.
Flow Quick L & High Flow are flowable composites great for liners, class V’s and small tunnel preps.
The recommended depth of cure is 2mm; however, it is important to always check your light and when using a material for the first time to read the manufacturers instructions for use (IFU).
One Up Bond F Plus is a 6th generation, single step, color chromatic bonding system. When primer A & B are mixed One Up Bond F Plus turns pink, once fully polymerized the pink disappears. Bond Force is a 7th generation, single component, single application bonding system, offering slightly higher bond strengths than One Up Bond F Plus.
Typically there is no post-operative sensitivity with Bond Force. With that being said, it is important to follow all manufacturers' instructions and Bond Force is no exception. Bond Force is very easy to use and will eliminate your sensitivity issues when used as recommended. Apply Bond Force to the tooth, wait 20 seconds (while waiting, rub the margins and uncut enamel) it is very important to air dry gently for 5 seconds followed by moderate to strong air, light cure for 10 seconds then place your restoration.
Quick note: When using Bond Force you will notice that the consistency is not as thick as other bonding agents on the market; that is one of the reasons Tokuyama stresses the importance of starting out with a light or gentle air dry for 5 seconds.
Bond Force is a light-cure bonding agent, if using dual-cured composite you must light-cure the material; Do Not use Bond Force on self-cured composites / core materials or dual-cured materials in self-cure mode.
Bond Force has an extremely low film thickness of about 8µm, making it an excellent choice for all composite restorations including anterior aesthetic restorations.
Due to the extremely low film thickness (8µm), you will not see the bonding layer on a radiograph; the material itself is radiolucent.
There is no need to use acid etch. Bond Force's unique chemistry eliminates the need for acid etch, even on uncut enamel. However, if you prefer to use acid etch you may; research has shown that the use of acid etch will not effect the bond strengths of Bond Force.
Bond Force has a 3 year shelf life and Must be refrigerated.
This could happen when Bond Force is exposed to high temperatures during transportation and/or not being refrigerated for long periods of time. Discontinue use and contact Tokuyama at 877-378-3548. Please have dealer information and lot number available.
For the best results it is important to read and follow the manufacturer's directions. Bond Force is very easy to use and is less technique sensitive. Simply, apply Bond Force to the enamel and dentin, wait 20 seconds (while waiting, rub the margins and uncut enamel), lightly air dry for 5 seconds, follow by a strong air for 5+ seconds, light cure for 10 seconds.
Yes, Bond Force may be used for porcelain and composite repair. If the repair involves all porcelain or composite, Tokuyama recommends using Tokuso Ceramic Primer on the porcelain/composite surface prior to applying Bond Force. If the repair involves a PFM, Tokuyama recommends using Metaltite on the precious metal followed by Tokuso Ceramic Primer on the porcelain/composite surface. The OTC (over the counter) adhesives do not work well with the silicone relines.
No, however, to work around this an office may treat the metal with MR Bond or Metaltite (depending on the metal) then add a thin layer of Tokuyama Rebase II to the metal, once set add Sofreliner to the newly applied acrylic.
There are two possible causes of poor adhesion and peeling margins; too much primer or not spreading the paste over the denture prior to insertion. When using the primer one – two very thin coast is all that you need, less primer equals better adhesion. Another cause of poor adhesion or peeling at the margins is not spreading the paste evenly over the areas to be relined prior to placing the denture in the mouth, it is very important not to skip this step. For more information there is a very helpful instructional DVD on the Tokuyama website.
Any denture cleaner may be used, keep in mind that some denture cleaners may discolor the silicone but will not degrade the silicone its self. Do Not use a toothbrush on the silicone, use a soft cloth or gauze wipe the denture out.
No, not at this time.
Tokuyama developed a revolutionary product called Silicone Remover to remove old silicone from the denture with extreme ease… Like Magic, saving valuable chair time.

The bristles are made of nylon and the handle is wood. The brush may be soaked in ethyl alcohol for overnight, if left long term in the solution the brush will discolor but is still functional. Do not place the brush in the autoclave or chemical units to sterilize, Tokuyama will not guarantee the results. Prior to soaking in ethyl alcohol place a small amount of alcohol in a dappen dish, swirling the brush in the alcohol to remove any access residue from the composite or Estelite Color.
