Tokuyama's Custom Shade Guide is the most accurate in shade matching, comparative to any manufacturer-made porcelain or acrylic shade guide, since you create and personalize using the very composite you intend to use in your patient's mouth.

Instructions

Step 1 1. Select the Mold according to the shade type desired. The mold has two types of tooth shapes. The Effect Enamel molds are wide and shallow, and suitable for effect shades. The Body Enamel and Dentin molds are narrow and deep, and suitable for enamel and dentin shades.

Step 2 2. Flip up the cover cap of the Mold

Step 3 3. Before setting the Shade Guide Handle into the appropriate slot, fill the root portion of tooth shaped mold with composite.

Step 4 4. Insert the Handle with its flat side up until it seats completely and is flush with Mold surface.

Step 5 5. Fill the remaining portion of the tooth mold with composite. Be sure not to over fill.

Step 6 6. Remove excess paste and flatten the surface.

Step 7 7. Gently press a Mylar strip on the composite to be cured.

Step 8 8. Close the cover cap and press down until it clicks.

Step 9 9. Light cure through the cover cap, for the length of time indicated in the composite manufacturer's instructions. Do not under cure.

Step 10 10. Reopen the cover cap and remove the Handle from the Mold. TIP: when opening the cover cap, gently push the handle down. Remove flash as needed. Please note that polish "dust" and fingerprints can change the glossiness of the composite resin so do not over polish the edges and avoid touching the composite.

Step 11 11. Label shades as desired, using a fine tip permanent marker to write shade name on the handle. If using Estelite Omega from Tokuyama, you may use the provided shade stickers.

Step 12 12. Set the finished Handle in the Holder.

Step 13 13. To remove excess residue after each use, clean the Mold with an alcohol-moist 2x2.

Step 14 14. Repeat above steps for all desired shades.
